The death toll in the Kerala plane crash rises to 20, including the pilot and co-pilot. At least 123 people were injured and 12 of them are in critical condition.
According to the Hindustan Times, the rescue operation ended at midnight on Friday.
India’s Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said in a Twitter post that a committee has already been formed to investigate the incident.
Indian Home Minister Amit Shah said in a tweet that he was saddened to learn of the tragic crash of an Air India Express plane in Kozhikode, Kerala. He has instructed the NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) to reach the spot quickly and assist in the rescue operation.
The flight from Dubai with 184 passengers and 7 crew members skidded off the runway and broke in two pieces while landing. The accident took place at Kozhikode airport in Kerala around 7.45 pm local time on Friday.
