Fugitive death convicted who was accused in Khuna’s double-murder case has surrendered in the court.

Sources informed that the convicts surrendered before surrendered to the Women and Children Repression Tribunal-3, around 11 am on Sunday morning. He is the son of Sheikh Abdul Jalil, a resident of Old Moulvi Darga Road in Lobonchora thana.

The special prosecutor of the case Advocate Farid Ahmed said the brutal killing took place on September 18, 2015. The absconding accused Shariful Islam surrendered. Two separate cases were filed in the killing and looting.

Earlier, the court on July 16 ordered the hanging of five accused in the murder case.

Among the five accused in the murder case are Saiful Islam Pitil, son of Sheikh Abdul Jalil, a resident of Dargah Road, old Maulvi of Lanchara Police Station, his brother Sharif, son of Abul Kalam, Abu Said son of Ahidul Islam, and Azizur Rahman Palash, son of Secander. Shariful was absconding among the accused.

It is to be noted that on September 18, 2015, the accused killed Exim Bank officer Parveen Sultana after gang rape; they also killed her father, Elias Chowdhury; and dumped their bodies in a safety tank. Later they looted the house and fled.
