Day temperature may rise over country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Thursday predicted that day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The Met Office also forecasted light to moderate rain across the country in the 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions," it said in a release.
Besides, weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, the release added.
The country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 35.7 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur and today’s minimum temperature was 24.4 degrees Celsius at Sylhet.
The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6.00 am today was recorded 54 millimeters (mm) at Cox’s Bazar in Chattogram.
The sun sets at 6:43 pm today and rises at 5:11 am tomorrow in the capital.
