Day temperature may rise by 1-2° C

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Thursday predicted day temperature may rise by 1-2 degrees Celcius and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The Met Office also forecasted light to moderate rain or thunder showers at most places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy falls at isolated places over the country," said a Met Office release issued this morning.
As an outlook for next 72 hours, the BMD predicted : "Rainfall activity may increase at the end period."
The country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded by 34.7 degrees Celsius at Sylhet and the minimum temperature today was recorded by 24 degrees Celsius jointly at Sitakunda and Mongla.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was 58 millimeters (mm) at Mongla under the Khulna division.
Today's sunset at Dhaka at 5:48 pm and tomorrow's sunrise will be at 5:50 am.
