Day temperature likely to rise

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Monday predicted that day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. 

The Met Office also forecasted that light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00 am today. 

"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions. Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country," said a met office release today.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon has withdrawn from Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Dhaka divisions and the regions of Cumilla and Noakhali. It may withdraw from the remaining part of Bangladesh during the next 24 hours. Monsoon is less active over Chattogram region and weak over North Bay.

The maximum temperature was recorded by 33.0 degree Celsius yesterday at Mongla and the minimum temperature today was recorded by 22.2 degree at Tangail.

Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00 am today was recorded by 21 millimetres (mm) at Dimla. 

Today’s sunset at Dhaka at 5:23 pm and tomorrow’s sunrise at 6:02 am.
