Day, night temp likely to rise slightly

Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country in the next 24 hours ending tomorrow at 9 am. Besides, rain or thundershowers activity may increase within 72 hours.
The information has been obtained today in a weather buletin signed by Meteorologist Kh. Hafizur Rahman, deputy director of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
According to the country’s Met Office, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
“The well-marked low over Jharkhand and adjoining area, now lies over Bihar and adjoining area,” said Meteorologist Kh. Hafizur Rahman, adding that “the axis of monsoon” trough has run through Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, the center of the well-marked low, West Bengal and thence northeastwards to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak over North Bay, he added.
The country’s maximum temperature was recorded at 35.8°C yesterday at Sylhet district while today’s minimum temperature was recorded at 24.0°C at Sitakunda in Chattogram division.
Today’s sunset will be at 5:46 pm and Tomorrow’s sunrise will be at 5:51 am.
