Police and local sources said that Firoza Nasrin was living at her own residence at the North Collegepara area (Ward no. 6) of the municipality with two children – son Riaz and daughter Tamanna Jabeen Rahman. For the past few days, her daughter has been dealing with mental imbalances.

On Wednesday morning, son Riaz went outside for calling a doctor. During this, Tamanna Jabeen Rahman hacked her mother with sharp weapons.

Later, Riaz came home and knocked on the door. However, when the door is not opened, he broke the door with the help of locals and entered the house. Seeing the body of his mother, Riaz informed the police.

He said the body of the deceased was recovered from the spot and the girl was detained.
