Daily Covid-19 cases declined but deaths increased

As many as 28 people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 6350 in the country. 17 people died yesterday.
Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 4,45,281 as 1,847 new cases were confirmed during the period. 2,265 people were infected yesterday
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) came up with the information in a press release issued on Saturday.
According to the release, a total of 12,643 samples were tested at 117 authorized laboratories across the country during the time.
Meanwhile, the recovery count rose to 3,60,352 after another 1921 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period.
Among the total infections, 80.9 percent of patients have recovered, while 1.4 percent died so far since the first COVID-19 positive cases were reported in the country on March 8.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 218 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
As of this afternoon, a total of 57,996,866 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 1,379,441 while 40,186,673 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
