DU to host special convocation for Bangabandhu Sep 5

Dhaka University is going to hold a special convocation on September 5 to confer a doctorate of laws on Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (posthumously) marking the celebration of ‘Mujib Borsho’. Nobel laureate economist Abhijit Banerjee will be present as convocation speaker.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the coordination committee formed to celebrate Mujib Year in the lounge adjacent to the Vice-Chancellor's office on Thursday. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Md. Akhtaruzzaman presided over the meeting.
In order to celebrate the Mujib Year in the meeting of the Coordination Committee, Placing the sculpture of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the university campus, establishment of 'Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Research Institute for Peace and Liberty', organizing international conference, composition competition and publications were discussed in the meetting.
Attending at this time - Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor. Nasreen Ahmed, Treasurer Professor. Md. Kamal Uddin, Dhaka University Teachers Association General Secretary Dr. Md. Nizamul Haque Bhuiyan, Proctor Professor. AKM Ghulam Rabbani, Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman and General Secretary of Dhaka University Alumni Association, Ranjan Karmakar were present.
