DU to hold entry test in divisional cities

Dhaka University (DU) authorities have decided to take admission tests in all divisional cities and cut the total marks to 100 for the 2020-21 academic year amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The decision was made at a meeting of the general admission committee of the university on Monday.

According to sources, admission tests will be held in 8 divisional cities Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Rangpur, and Mymensingh considering the risk of the students. Students will take part in the examination in their respective divisions.

Admission tests will be held for 100 marks for ‘K’, ‘Kha’, ‘Ga’, and ‘Gha’ units. The marks include 40 for multiple-choice questions and 40 for writing while 20 will be given based on the results of Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC).

Deans of the faculties concerned will fix the duration and subject-wise questionnaires of the tests.

A press release from the university's public relations office said the process of application and the examination schedule would be announced later.
