DU student rape: Report against Nur, 5 others on Mar 14

The court today has fixed March 14 by deferring the probe report in a case filed against six including Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) former vice-president (VP) Nurul Haque Nur for alleged abduction, rape, abetting rape and offenses under Digital Security Act.
Today was set for the submission of the investigation report in the case, however, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nevana Khair Jessie set the new date as the investigation officer of the case, Kotwali zonal team police inspector (unarmed) Md. Wahiduzzaman, failed to submit the report.
On September 22, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Begum Mahmuda Akhter accepted the statement of the case and directed Kotwali Police Station Inspector (Unarmed), Nur Alam, to investigate the case and submit a report.
On the night of September 20, a case was filed with Lalbagh police station against Nur for his alleged involvement in provoking a rape incident.
According to the case, the incident took place at Sadarghat Hotel and Restaurant in the Kotwali police station area. Hasan Al Mamun, the convener of the Bangladesh Student Rights Council, was made the main accused in the case.
The other accused are - Saiful, Nazmul, Hasan Al Mamun, suspended convener of Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad Nazmul Hasan Sohag and its joint convener and DU student Abdullah Hil Baki.
