DMP instructions on occasion of Bangabandhu Marathon

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued special instructions to avoid traffic congestions on the occasion of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon-2021 starting from January 10 in the capital.
The instructions were given in a press release signed by DMP Commissioner Md. Shafiqul Islam on Saturday.
The marathon will start from Bangladesh Army Stadium and will end at Hatirjheel in the capital. 200 local and foreign athletes will take part in the event. In order to avoid traffic congestions during the marathon route and its vicinity, vehicles and city dwellers traveling in the area are requested to follow the following instructions -
- All types of vehicles will be banned from entry in Hatirjheel from 4:30 am on Sunday (January 10) until the end of the marathon.
- All types of bus services inside Hatirjheel will be shut down during the marathon.
- The audience will leave their vehicles at a designated place in the parking lot and enter on foot.
- The marathon team will start its journey from Army Stadium at 6:30 am, cross Gulshan-2 and Gulshan-1 via Kakoli and enter Hatirjheel. Traffic will be temporarily shut down on the road as long as the team passes.
For parking, there will be parking at two places near the Aarong on Phoenix Road in front of the ACI office in the Tejgaon Industrial Area from the Satrasta intersection. There will also be special parking in front of the Police Plaza.
During the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon-2021, the DMP is seeking the full cooperation of the public to maintain order in the movement of vehicles and avoid traffic congestions.
