DMP detains 47 in anti-drug drive

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 47 people for selling and consuming drugs in an anti-drug drive in the capital.
They were detained in different police stations in the capital from 6 am on Monday to 6 am on Tuesday.
Confirming the matter to the media, Hafiz Al Asad, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division, said 1,841 pieces of yaba, 10 cans of beer, 409 grams of 905 pieces of pure heroin, 200 bottles of phensedyl and 44 kg of 225 grams of cannabis were seized from the detainees.
The police official also said that 40 cases have been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act with the DMP police station.
