DGHS’s former DG Mizanur Rahman dies

Former Director General (DG) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and valiant freedom fighter Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman
Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, former Director General (DG) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and valiant freedom fighter, passed away on Monday night in a private hospital in Dhaka. He was 73.
He breathed his last at 10:00 pm at Square Hospital in the capital.
According to family sources, Mizanur Rahman had been suffering from kidney diseases and taking treatment in the hospital since February 10.
Born on January 1 in 1948 at Shyampur Miapara village under Shyampur union of Shibganj Upazila in Chapainawabganj district, Mizanur Rahman also served as the principal of Rajshahi, Sylhet and Salimullah Medical Colleges.
Confirming the information of his death, Shibganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Sakib-Al-Rabbi said Rahman would be buried at a local graveyard with state honour after namaj-e-janaja at 3:00 pm today.
