DG of Directorate of Environment dies of COVID-19

Director General of the Directorate of Environment (DoE) Dr AKM Rafique Ahmed died from coronavirus (Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilahi Raziun).
He breathed his last at 4:15 am on Saturday while undergoing treatment at the Rajarbagh Police Hospital in the capital.
Dipankar Bar, public relations officer at the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, confirmed the information.
He said Rafique Ahmed had been undergoing treatment at the hospital for the past several days.
Dr. AKM Rafique Ahmed started his career in Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) Cadre in 1991 and served in a number of field and central positions for three decades.
