DB to interrogate `Shishu Bokta` Rafiqul

Rafiqul Islam Madani, widely known as "Shishu Bokta", has been placed on four days remand by DB police in a case filed with Motijheel Police Station over March 25 mayhem in protest of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Bangladesh visit.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Debabrata Biswas Court was informed about the matter on Thursday.

He was produced before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate's Court after a seven-day remand in a case filed under the Digital Security Act at the Motijheel Police Station. The investigating officer of the case requested to keep him in jail in this case. 

Following the application, the court ordered him to be sent to jail. After informing the court, DB police remanded him for questioning in a case filed with Motijheel police station in connection with a clash with police from a procession of Bangladesh Students and Youth Rights Council in the capital in protest of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bangladesh.

On April 22, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufian Mohammad Noman's virtual court granted him a seven-day remand in a case filed with Motijheel police station in Digital Security Act.

Earlier in the day, Mymensingh Additional Chip Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Abdul Hai granted a one-day remand to Rafiqul Islam in an explosives case on April 21 morning. 

Following a virtual court hearing of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufian Mohammad Noman on April 21, the court granted a four-day remand to Rafiqul Islam in a case filed over clashes with police from a procession of Bangladesh Students and Jubo Odhikar Parishad in the capital in protest of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, on April 13, Gachha police filed a seven-day remand against Rafiqul Islam in Gazipur court. On the same day, the judge of the court fixed April 15 for the remand hearing. Later, a judge of Gazipur Judicial Magistrate's Court granted his two-day remand application.

On April 7, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Madani from his ancestral home in Netrokona's Purbatola area.
