Cyclone ‘Bulbul’ heads towards Bangladesh

A low is forming near the Andaman-Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal that slowly turning into a cyclone which was named ‘Cyclone Bulbul’, according to Regional Meteorological Centre Kolkata.  

“It could turn into a cyclone Wednesday night,” said the Met Office IMD. The low is now located 990 km away from South and southwest of Khepupara, Bangladesh.

So when it turns into a cyclone — it’s direction can be decided. However, the cyclone is expected to move to West Bengal and adjoining Odisha and Bangladesh.

The IMD also said that heavy rainfall likely to continue in the coastal areas of West Bengal and Bangladesh since Friday, As a result, the sea will remain rough. Therefore, the fishermen have been requested not to go to sea from Thursday.

In addition, the low — located in the South East and North Andaman Sea — moving west at a speed of 11 km per hour. After turning into a cyclone, it will move west and northwest, and then north and northwest. 

Meanwhile, the Delhi Meteorological Office has said that the low will be strong after turning into a cyclone. When approaching the coast on Friday, the probable rotation speed of the cyclone may 140 to 150 kilometers per hour.
