Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Thursday said that the cyclonic storm “Bulbul” over east-central Bay and adjoining area moved north-northwestwards over the same area and was centred about 930 km south-southwest of Chattogram port, 855 km south-southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 910 km south of Mongla port and 865 km south of Payra port at 06:00 am.

It is likely to intensify further and move in a north-northwesterly direction, said a Met Office bulletin issued this morning.

Maximum sustained wind speed within 54 km of the cyclone centre is about 62 kph rising to 88 kph in gusts/squalls.

Sea will remain very rough near the cyclone centre. Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted distant warning signal number two.

All fishing boats and trawlers over the north bay and deep sea have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice. They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea.
