Cricketers start practice again

After a five-day break, the individual practice of the national team cricketers has started again at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) stopped cricketers' individual practice after some of the supporting staff assisting in individual practices had shown symptoms of Covid-19 and one of the trainers had tested positive for the virus.

The BCB tested samples for coronavirus of all the cricketers and support staff during the practice. Opener Saif Hassan and national team English coach Nick Lee have tested positive for COVID-19. In the second step, everyone tested negative for coronavirus. After that, the cricketers have started individual practice again from today.

Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim practiced at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday at first of the sixth phase of the cricketers' personal practice. Mushfiqur did running and gym sessions around 9 am. Mahmudullah has practiced batting at the same time.

Taizul Islam and Mehedi Hasan Miraz practiced bowling today. Miraz practiced in Mirpur for the first time today after the corona break. He has practiced in Khulna before.

After them, Saumya Sarkar and Tamim Iqbal practiced one by one at the center wicket in Mirpur. Pacers duo Mustafizur Rahman and Shafiul Islam bowled them. Liton Das and Mominul Haque have practiced batting. Fast bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Rubel Hossain have practiced by bowling them.

In addition to batting practice, Saumya practiced fielding. Sadman Islam and Nurul Hasan Sohan did running only due to rain.
