Oikyafront sought perms to hold rally Nov 6

The political alliance Jatiya Oikyafront has sought authorities’ permission to hold a rally at the Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on November 6 to push for its seven-point demands.

On behalf of the Oikyafront, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the program at a press conference at BNP’s Nayapaltan central office today (on Friday).

Rizvi said, “We have already sent separate letters to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) and the authorities concerned of Suhrawardy Udyan seeking permission for holding the rally.”

Earlier, the Oikyafront held two public rallies in Sylhet and Chattogram on October 24 and 27 respectively.

The announcement came just a day after Oikyafront held a dialogue with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Gono Bhaban.

Earlier on yesterday, a 20-member delegation of the Oikyafront led by Gonoforum President Dr Kamal Hossain held a dialogue with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina led a 23-member delegation of the 14-party alliance at Gonobhaban in a congenial atmosphere.
