Covid-19 vaccination begins in 5 hospitals

The vaccination program has started in five hospitals in the capital around 10:00 am on Thursday as per the pre-scheduled time. A total of 560 people will be vaccinated in five hospitals today.

The hospitals are – Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Kurmitola General Hospital, Mugda General Hospital and Kuwait Maitree Hospital.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Covid-19 vaccination program at Kurmitola General Hospital on Wednesday. 

A total of five people were vaccinated on this day. Runu Beronica Costa, a senior staff nurse at Kurmitola General Hospital, was the first to receive the vaccine. 

Later, Medicine Consultant Dr Ahmed Lutfar Mobin received the vaccine as a first physician, and then Additional Director General (Administration) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof. Dr Nasima Sultana, Member of Traffic Police Didarul Islam and Brigadier General Imran Hamid of Bangladesh Army took the vaccine.

Registration activities were already launched with the inauguration ceremony through the mobile app and web application of the ‘Surokkha’ platform of vaccination management. Those who want to get vaccinated need to register online.
