Covid-19 positivity rate 100% in Chudanga

100 percent of the 41 samples collected in the 24 hours were tested positive in Chuadanga. Two more people died from the virus during the period, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 91 in the district.
Chuadanga Civil Surgeon Dr ASM Maruf Hasan confirmed the information on Thursday.
According to Chuadanga Health Department sources, of the 41 new cases, 19 are in Chuadanga Sadar Upazila, one in Damurhuda Upazila, seven in Alamdanga Upazila and 14 in Jibannagar Upazila.
The two deceased have been identified as Abdus Sobhan of Banka village in Jibannagar Upazila and Ruhul Amin of Loknathpur village in Damurhuda Upazila.
So far, the tally of infections has stood at 2,837 in Chuadanga. In the last 24 hours, 29 people have recovered from the pandemic, raising the recovery count to 2,049.
Now, the total number of active cases is 69. Of these, 633 are in home isolation while 61 others have been undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Meanwhile, strict lockdown started in Jibannagar Upazila from 8:00 am on Wednesday (June 23) due to the surge of coronavirus infections. Earlier on June 20, a seven-day lockdown has been imposed in Alokdia Union Parishad of Sadar Upazila including Chuadanga Municipality from 8:00 am. Border upazila Damurhuda was under lockdown since June 15.
