Covid-19 infections declined, fatalities increased in 24hrs

19 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 5,780 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 3,97,507 as 1094 new cases were confirmed during the period.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) came up with the information in a press release issued on Monday.
Meanwhile, a total of 10,998 samples were tested at authorized laboratories across the country during the time.
Besides, the recovery count rose to 3,13,563 after another 1498 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first Covid-19 cases.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of Saturday afternoon, a total of 42,549,383 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 1,150,163 while 31,456,279 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
