Covid-19 fatalities, infections decrease in 24hrs in country

20 more Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 5325 in the country. Besides, the tally of infections has surged to 3,67,565 as 1182 new cases were confirmed during the period.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) came up with the information in a press release issued on Thursday.
According to the release, a total of 9554 samples were tested at 108 authorized laboratories across the country during the time. Besides, the recovery count rose to 2,80,069 after another 1442 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first Covid-19 cases.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances. As of Friday afternoon, a total of 34,859,855 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 1,033,724 while 25,910,945 patients have recovered, according to worldometers data.
