Covid-19 deaths rise in 24hrs

Forty-three people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours in the country, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With this, the total number of deaths in the country has reached 13,032 and the death rate stands at 1.58 percent.
Another 2,454 new cases were reported in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 8,22,849 added the release.
Among the newly dead, 30 were male while 13 were female.
It said 13.24 percent of the 18,535 samples collected in 24 hours were tested positive.
The recovery count rose to 7,61,916 after another 2,286 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the past one day. The recovery count stands at 92.59 percent.
Earlier, 40 people had died from the virus on Thursday and 2, 576 people were infected.
