Covid-19: deaths fall, cases rise in 24hrs

Covid-19 has claimed 18 more lives in the country in the last 24 hours, bringing the tally from the pandemic to 27,573.

On the other hand, the total caseload stood at 15,57,964 as 617 more tested positive for the virus during the same time.

It was said in a press release signed by professor Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General (Administration), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday.

Among the 18 deceased, nine are men and nine are women.

The current positivity rate is 2.9 percent.

A total of  21, 246 samples were tested at 815 centers across the country in 24 hours.

In the past 24 hours, 1,112 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 15,18,754.

The DGHS statistics showed of the people infected from the beginning 1.77 percent died.
