Covid-19 deaths, cases fall in 24hrs

Bangladesh has reported another 17 deaths from coronavirus (Covid-19) in the past 24 hours, taking the tally of death from the pandemic to 12,458.

Besides, another 1,497  people were diagnosed with the virus during the period, bringing the overall caseload to 793,693.

It was said in a press release signed by Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) (Administration) on Wednesday (May 26, 2021).

A total of 16, 434 samples were collected in the past 24 hours.

The recovery counts rose to 7,33,866 as another 1056 people were recovered from the diseases.

Earlier, 40 deaths and 1,675 cases were reported related to the disease yesterday.

The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
