Covid-19 death toll tops 991,000 globally

The death toll from coronavirus tops 991,000 and the number of infections exceeds 32,659,000 in 215 countries and territories around the globe.

According to worldometer, so far, 991,033 people have died from the deadly virus infection out of 32,659,617 coronavirus cases across the world. However, a total of 24,091,971 have recovered from the virus. 

The United States still tops in the list in terms of both infections and deaths having 7,211,558 people infected with the virus. Of these, 208,021 have died in the country. 

Brazil, the Latin American country has the second-highest number of deaths from coronavirus. The death toll rose to 140,040. Besides, the number of coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 4,667,384.        

In addition, India is in the second position in the context of coronavirus infection and at third in the context of deaths after the United States and Brazil. However, the death toll rose to 93,408. Besides, the number of coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 5,901,576 with more than 85,919 new cases in the last 24 hours.         
Mexico is in the fourth position in the death toll from coronavirus infection with 75,439 death cases while the total number of victims is 715,457 in the country.

In December 2019, the coronavirus was spread from Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China. In the country of origin of the virus, so far 85,322 people have been infected. Of these, 4,634 people have died.
