Covid-19 death toll tops 915,000 globally

The death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 915,000 and the number of infections exceeded 28,415,000 people in 215 countries and territories around the globe.     

According to worldometer, so far, 915,102 people have died from the deadly virus infection out of 28,415,130 coronavirus cases across the world. However, a total of 20,420,019 have recovered from the virus. 

The United States still tops in the list in terms of both infections and deaths having 6,593,776 people infected with the virus. Of these, 196,376 have died in the country.

Brazil, the Latin American country has the second-highest number of deaths from coronavirus. The death toll rose to 129,575. Besides, the number of coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 4,239,763.   

In addition, India is in the second position in the context of coronavirus infection and at third in the context of deaths after the United States and Brazil. However, the death toll rose to 76,676. Besides, the number of coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 4,601,997 with more than 96,000 new cases in the last 24 hours.  

Mexico is in the fourth position in the death toll from coronavirus infection with 69,649 death cases while the total number of victims is 652,364 in the country.

In December 2019, the coronavirus was spread from Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China. In the country of origin of the virus, so far 85,168 people have been infected. Of these, 4,634 people have died.
