Covid-19 death toll in country crosses 8000

The death toll from the pandemic Covid-19 in Bangladesh has crossed 8000.
As well as 22 more people have died of the virus in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 8003 in the country. 15 people died yesterday.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) came up with the information in a press release on Saturday (23-01-2020).
According to the release, the tally of infections has surged to 5,31,326 as 436 new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours. While the recovery count rose to 4,75,899 after another 338 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the period.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 218 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
As of Saturday afternoon, a total of 98,809,162 people has been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 2,118,030 while 71,016,513 patients have recovered, according to Worldometers data.
