Covid-19 death toll edges 964,000 globally

The death toll from coronavirus edges 964,000 and the number of infections exceeds 31,156,000 in 215 countries and territories around the globe.

According to worldometer, so far, 963,951 people have died from the deadly virus infection out of 31,156,763 coronavirus cases across the world. However, a total of 22,758,717 have recovered from the virus. 

The United States still tops in the list in terms of both infections and deaths having 6,987,484 people infected with the virus. Of these, 204,009 have died in the country. 

Brazil, the Latin American country has the second-highest number of deaths from coronavirus. The death toll rose to 136,677. Besides, the number of coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 4,531,539.      

In addition, India is in the second position in the context of coronavirus infection and at third in the context of deaths after the United States and Brazil. However, the death toll rose to 87,896. Besides, the number of coronavirus cases in the country has risen to 5,483,663 with more than 92,000 new cases in the last 24 hours.      
Mexico is in the fourth position in the death toll from coronavirus infection with 73,258 death cases while the total number of victims is 694,121 in the country.

In December 2019, the coronavirus was spread from Wuhan, the capital of Hubei Province, China. In the country of origin of the virus, so far 85,279 people have been infected. Of these, 4,634 people have died.
