Covid-19: Highest 82 deaths logged in 52 days, 3,641 infected

Bangladesh has reported 82 more deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the highest daily death count in the last 52 days. With the latest, the death toll from the pandemic rose to 13,548.
Earlier on April 29, 88 deaths related to Covid-19 were recorded.
Besides, the overall caseload has surged to 8,51,668 as 3,641 new cases were confirmed during the period.
The daily database on Covid-19 reported this in a press release signed by Professor Dr. Nasima Sultana, additional director general (administration) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Sunday (June 20, 2021).
About 22,231 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours, yielding a positivity rate of 16.38 percent.
The recovery count rose to 782,655 after another 2,509 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the past day. The recovery count stands at 91.9 percent while the mortality rate stands at 1.59 percent.
Earlier on Saturday, 67 deaths linked to COVID-19, and 3,057 fresh cases were reported.
Bangladesh recorded the highest number of COVID-19 fatalities on April 19 this year when the virus killed 112 people in a day.
