Bangladesh recorded 108 more deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the second highest daily deaths from the virus, bringing the total fatalities to 13,976. Besides, the overcall caseload has surged to 8,78,804 as 5,859 fresh cases were confirmed during the period.
It was said in a press release signed by Professor Dr. Nasima Sultana, additional director (administration) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Friday (June 25, 2021).
A total of 27,653 samples were tested in the 528 authorized laboratories across the country in the last 24 hours, yielding a positivity rate of 21.22 percent.
Among the dead in the past 24 hours, 75 were male while 33 were female. Of them, 23 died in Khulna Division.
The recovery count rose to 7,97,559 after another 2,776 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the past one day. The recovery count stands at 90.76 percent.
Earlier on Thursday, 81 deaths linked to Covid-19, and 6,058 fresh cases were reported. Bangladesh reported the first Covid-19 cases on March 8 and the first deaths on March 18, 2020.
