Covid-19: 77 die, 2955 infected in 24hrs

Bangladesh has reported 77 more Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 11,305, according to the official figures.

Besides, 2,955 Covid-19 cases were confirmed during the period. With the latest, the tally of infections has surged to 7,54,614.
Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) informed this in a press release on Wednesday (April 28, 2021).

Among the dead in the past 24 hours, 43 are males while 34 are females.

A total of 28,206 samples were tested at 335 authorized laboratories across the country during the time, the press release added.

In the past 24 hours, another 5,392 people were discharged from the hospital, raising the total number of cured patients to 6,72,319.

Earlier, 78 deaths and 3,031 cases were reported related to the disease yesterday.

The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
