Covid-19: 76 die, infections on rise in 24hrs

Bangladesh today has reported 76 more Covid-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll from the pandemic to 13,702. Besides, the overcall caseload has surged to 861,150 as 4,846 fresh cases were confirmed during the period.
The daily database on Covid-19 in the country has published by Prof. Dr. Nasima Sultana, additional director (administration) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Tuesday (June 22, 2021).
About 25,338 samples were tested in the 528 authorized laboratories across the country in the last 24 hours, yielding a positivity rate of 19.36 percent.
The recovery count rose to 788,385 after another 2,903 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the past one day. The recovery count stands at 92.42 percent.
Earlier on Monday, 78 deaths linked to COVID-19, and 4,636 fresh cases were reported.
As of Tuesday afternoon, a total of 179,614,895 people has been diagnosed with coronavirus worldwide, as the death toll climbs to 3,890,280 while 164,314,372 patients have recovered, according to Worldometers data.
The coronavirus that was first reported in China in 2019 is now affecting 220 countries and territories around the world.
