Covid-19: 41 more die, infects 1953

Bangladesh reported 41 more deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the tally from the pandemic to 26,972.
On the other hand, the total caseload stood at 15,32,366 as 1,953 more tested positive for the virus during the same time.
It was said in a press release signed by professor Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General (Administration), Directorate General of Heal10th Services (DGHS) on Monday.
Dhaka division alone saw 14 deaths from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours while the Chattogram division reported 14 deaths during the same time.
DGHS said 7.69 percent of the 25,388 samples collected in 24 hours were tested positive.
The recovery count rose to 14,82,933 after another 4,112 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the same time.
The DGHS statistics showed of the people infected from the beginning, 96.77 percent recovered, while 1.76 percent died.
The highest single-day deaths 264 from Covid-19 were reported on Tuesday (August 10).
The first Covid-19 cases were reported in Bangladesh on March 8, 2020, while the first death from the virus was reported on March 18.
