Covid-19: 39 die in 24hrs; 11 in Khulna

39 people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours in the country, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday (12-06-2021).
With this, the total number of deaths in the country has climbed to 13,071 and the death rate stands at 1.59 percent. “The highest number of 11 deaths are reported in Khulna,” said DGHS press release.
Another 1,637 new cases were reported during the period, taking the overall caseload to 8,24,486.
Among the newly dead, 26 were male while 13 were female.
It said 14.12 percent of the 11,590 samples collected in 24 hours were tested positive.
The recovery count rose to 7,64,024 after another 2,108 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the past one day. The recovery count stands at 92.59 percent.
Earlier on Friday, 43 people had died from the virus and 2,454 people were infected.
