Covid-19: 38 die, infections declined in 24hrs

As many as 38 people succumbed to the Covid-19 in the past 24 hours in Bangladesh, bringing the death toll from the pandemic to 12,549.
Besides, another 1,043 people were diagnosed with the virus during the period, increasing the overall caseload to 797,386.
The database of the coronavirus or Covid-19 for the last 24 hours was revealed in a press release signed by Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday (May 29, 2021).
It said 7.91 percent of the 12,549 samples collected in 24 hours were positive.
The recovery counts rose to 737,408 as another 1,187 people were recovered from the diseases.
The mortality rate stands at 1.57 percent while the rate of recuperation stands at 92.48 percent.
Earlier on Friday, 31 deaths and 1,358 cases were reported related to the disease.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
