Covid-19: 30 die, infections increased in 24hrs

Bangladesh has reported 30 more Covid-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll from the pandemic to 12,869.
Besides, the overcall caseload has surged to 812,960 as 1,970 fresh cases were confirmed during the period.
The database on Covid-19 was revealed in a press release by the routine daily statement of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday (June 7, 2021)
The press release said 11.47 percent of the 17169 samples tested across the country in the last 24 hours – 1,970 people were yielding COVID-positive cases.
The samples were tested at 509 authorized medical laboratories across the country during the time as the government put in efforts to increase the number of testing centers gradually with the resurgence of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, the recovery count rose to 753,240 after another 1,918 patients were discharged from the hospitals during the past one day.
The DGHS statistics showed of the people infected from the beginning, 92.65 percent recovered, while 1.58 percent died.
As of Monday afternoon, a total of 174,083,964 people has been diagnosed with coronavirus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 3,744,860 while 157,104,475 patients have recovered, according to Worldometers data.
The coronavirus that was first reported in China in 2019 is now affecting 220 countries and territories around the world.
