Covid-19: 30 die, 1687 infected in 24hrs

As many as 30 people succumbed to the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, increasing the death toll from the pandemic to 12,724.
Besides, 1,687 Covid-19 fresh cases were registered in the last 24 hours, bringing the overall caseload to 805,980.
The data was presented at a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday (June 3, 2021).
A total of 16,972 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours with the positivity rate stands at 9.94 percent.
Among the 30 deceased, 21 were men and 9 women, the release added.
Meanwhile, 1,970 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period, with this, the total number of recoveries now stands at 746,035.
Earlier, 34 deaths and 1,988 cases were reported from the disease on Wednesday.
The first coronavirus death was reported in the country on March 18 last year, ten days after the detection of the first COVID-19 cases.
