Covered van hits truck, killing 3

Three people, including the driver and his associate, were killed when a covered van hit a parked truck in  Bhaluka Upazila of Mymensingh. 

The incident took place at the Labankotha area on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in the Upazila on Sunday night. 

The deceased have been identified as Shah Alam Gazi, son of Kauser Gazi of Amurakanda village in Phulpur Upazila of Mymensingh district, Rabiul Mazi, son of Abdul Malek Majhi of Keyamatnagar village in Sadar Upazila of Jhalokati district and Rabbi Mia, son of Borhan Uddin of Gandaria in Dhaka.

SI Ziaul Haque, in-charge of Bhoradoba Highway Police Station, said Mymensingh-bound covered van hit the food-laden truck, when it was standing at the roadside on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Labankotha in the Upazila. 

Two people died on the spot and one injured. Later, the highway police rescued the injured and took him to Bhaluka Upazila Health Complex where the doctor declared him dead.
