Court denies bail for Minni

A Barguna court rejects bail plea of ​​Ayesha Siddiqua Minni who has been arrested in connection to the murder of her husband Rifat Sharif in Barguna.

Barguna’s Senior Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Sirajul Islam Ghazi denied bail application. On Sunday morning, the bail petition was filed in the court. Later, the hearing for the bail petition started around 11 am.

In the court on behalf of Minni, more than 30 Advocates were present including Barguna District Lawyers Association General Secretary Adv. Mahbubul Bari Aslam, Advocate Ghulam Mostafa Qader, Advocate Deepak Chandra Haldar, Advocate Abdullah Al Noman, Advocate Sahida Begum, Advocate Abdur Rashid and Advocate Md. Mizanur Rahman. Moreover, 4 lawyers from the Law and Arbitration Center, who came from Dhaka to provide legal assistance to Minnie, were also present in the court.

Advocate. Mahbubul Bari Aslam told the news that “Court had said that Minnie had given a confessional statement and that the 3rd accused in the case had confessed to Minnie's involvement; since then, her bail cannot be granted. Now we will apply for bail to the Judge Court.”

Meanwhile, on July 16, Minni was arrested in the Rifat murder case. On July 17, Barguna Senior Judicial Magistrate granted her five-day remand in the court. But before the end of the remand, on July 19, Minney gave the confessional statement to the court and then, the court sent her to jail.
