Court adjourns Irfan Selim`s remand hearing to Nov 8

The court has adjourned the remand hearing in two separate cases under the Arms and Narcotics Act against Irfan Selim, son of MP Haji Selim, and his bodyguard Zahid.
On Monday, two separate Metropolitan Magistrates' Courts in Dhaka fixed the date for the remand hearing.
A hearing on their remand was scheduled for today. But jail authorities sent a report saying the accused were on remand in another case. So it was not possible to send him to court. Considering the application, the judge rescheduled the hearing for the day.
Earlier on Thursday, in two separate cases against the two accused, a total of 14 days remand was sought. Delwar Hossain. Two separate metropolitan magistrates then set a date for the hearing today.
On October 25, Navy Lieurtinent Md. Wasif Ahmed Khan was attacked by Haji Selim’s son Irfan Selim and his allies in Dhanmondi area. Lieutenant Wasif filed a case on next day over the matter. Following the case, RAB conducted a drive at Haji Selim’s residence and arrested Irfan Selim, a ward councilor of Dhaka-30 including his bodyguard and driver. A huge amount of drugs, walkie-talkies, and arms were recovered at the operation. RAB mobile court sentenced Irfan Selim to one-year imprisonment in two separate cases.
