Couple killed in late-night house fire in Pirojpur

A late-night house fire claimed the life of a husband and wife in the West College Road area of ​​Ward-8 of Mathbaria upazila in Pirojpur.

The fire broke out at around 4:30 am on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Saiful and his wife Moni Begum. They tied the knot just three months ago.

Mathbaria Fire Service Station Officer Sumon said the fire broke out at around 4:30 am in the West College Road area of ​​Ward 8 of the city due to an electrical short circuit.

Upon receiving the news, the fire service personnel rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. The newlyweds died in their sleep after being burnt in the fire. Two auto vehicles were also burnt in the incident. The bodies have been recovered.
