Bangladesh Bank (BB) will release new 10 taka notes with hundred percent cotton paper and new security yarn in the market from Tuesday. Bangladesh Bank said this in a press release on Monday.

The notification said the new 10 taka banknotes are made of 100% cotton paper to prevent counterfeiting. The note has an existing design with a portrait of Bangabandhu with the addition of a new security thread. The new note has the signature of Governor Fazle Kabir its color and design unchanged but new security paper added on the left side of the front of the note.

In addition, the newly added safety thread is 2 mm wide and it clearly reads '10 (ten)' in Bengali directly and vice versa, which will be completely or partially located in the visible part of the security thread.

The new safety thread will not be easily removed by scratching or twisting the nails. If the note is rotated or tilted in different directions, the color of the yarn will change from magenta to green.

The new notes will be available from Bangladesh Bank's Motijheel office on Tuesday and will be issued later from other offices of Bangladesh Bank.
