Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malik has expressed hope that the coronavirus will not come to Bangladesh.
“We had an inter-ministerial meeting on coronavirus. Work is being done to prevent the virus from coming to our country,” he expressed hope at a press conference in the conference room of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare at the Secretariat on Tuesday afternoon.
Health Ministre said, “Scanners have been installed at the airport. I hope it does not come to Bangladesh. Even now, we have all the preparations taken. So there is no reason to fear. If this comes, then we can control.”
He said that advance arrangements have been made in the hospital. Separate wards have been made at Kurmitola Hospital. This action has been taken in all districts. All remedies have been made.
Mentioning so far no patient has been found with coronavirus in Bangladesh, the minister said no student of Bangladesh has been affected by the disease in China. “The virus is very contagious. But I urge you not to panic.”
Responding to a question from reporters, he said that it is better not to go to China unnecessarily.
