The coronavirus situation of the Maharashtra’s Mumbai, India, is getting worse day by day. There are rows of corpses in the wards of coronavirus hospitals while the patients are being instructed to sleep on the floor due to bed crisis, Times of India reported.

According to the State Health Ministry, 2,361 people were infected with coronavirus in Maharashtra on Monday. The total number of victims has increased to 70,013 people while 76 died. The total death toll stood at 2,362 in the state. A quarter of the country's total coronavirus patients are from Mumbai. In this situation, the health system of the state has completely collapsed. Despite nearly two months of severe lockdown, a horrific outbreak of coronavirus has started in Mumbai.

“We are launching new wards every day. But at the end of the day, they are being filled with COVID-19 patients. Currently it is in a very bad condition,” said Saad Ahmed, a resident doctor at state-run King Edward Memorial Hospital in central Mumbai.

A video went viral in which coronavirus patients were seen lying next to dead bodies few days ago in Mumbai.
