Coronavirus infected cases surge 1000 in Cumilla

49 people, including Mizanur Rahman, the mayor of Chauddagram municipality, have been newly infected with coronavirus in Cumilla. Of them, 12 are in the metropolis. With this, the total number of coronavirus cases in the district has reached 1,020.
Dr. Md. Shahadat Hossain, Deputy Civil Surgeon and Focal Person of Corona Infection Prevention Committee Cumilla has confirmed this information on Monday.
According to the District Civil Surgeon's Office, samples of 9,546 people have been sent for the test so far. Of them, 8,599 reports arrived. Of the reports received, 1,020 were positive.
Of the 49 newly infected on Monday, 12 were in Cumilla City, five in Nangalkot, 13 in Chauddagram, five in Adarsha Sadar, nine in Burichang, three in Muradnagar, one each in Meghna and Brahmanpara.
A total of 142 people has recovered so far, including three in Adarsha Sadar and one in Meghna Upazila on Monday. On the other hand, 26 people have died of COVID-19 so far.
