Coronavirus: highest 18,185 cases reported in India, 401 deaths

Neighboring India has recorded the highest number of coronavirus infections in a single day. In the last 24 hours, 18,185 people have been infected with the deadly virus in the country, the highest confirmed cases recorded so far. Besides, 401 people have died in one day.
According to the Union Ministry of Health, 491,170 people have been infected with coronavirus in the country so far; of them, 15,308 have died of coronavirus and 285,671 people have recovered.
Maharashtra tops the list in terms of infection in India. A total of 3900 more people have been infected with COVID-19 in the state.
Delhi is second only to Maharashtra in coronavirus cases and deaths while the rampage of the deadly virus is increasing in West Bengal.
The country's train and metro services have been shut down until mid-August to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection. Meanwhile, the lockdown has been imposed in West Bengal till July 31.
According to the global survey site worldometer, India has been placed in the fourth position in terms of the highest coronavirus cases in the world.
