Coronavirus: Death toll tops 340,000; over 5.3 m infected

The world has witnessed a record number of coronavirus infections in the 24 hours last. For the first time in five months of the epidemic,108000 new coronavirus cases have been identified within a day. The total number of victims has exceeded 53,00000. Besides, including the new record of 5200 deaths in coronavirus infection in a day, the total loss of life has surpassed 340,000.

The virus, which was first detected in China in December last, has so far spread to 213 countries and territories around the globe. According to the international survey agency Worldometer, a total of 5,304,340 people have been infected with coronavirus in the world. Of them, 340,004 people have died and 2,158,587 people have recovered globally.

The United States has the highest number of deaths and injuries in the world. So far 16 lakh 45 thousand 94 people have been affected by corona in the country. Of these, 97,748 people have died.

Brazil is currently second on the list in terms of coronavirus cases, overtaking Russia. On Friday, 19,979 more people in Brazil have been infected with coronavirus taking the total number to 332,382 in the country. Of them, 21,116 people have died and 135,430 people have recovered in Brazil.

In Russia, which has dropped to third place in terms of infection following Russia has so far recorded 326,448 coronavirus cases.

In China, the country of origin of the virus, so far, 82,971 people have been infected. Of these, 4,634 people have died.
